Swervedriver San Diego Concert reviews
Martin and Short were great, SFC not so much.
I enjoyed working with Short and Swervedriver, they appeared to enjoy what they were doing and working with each other. Smart Financial Center needs a lot of work. The lobby was great and well appointed, but they are not the reason I went to the show. Exiting was poorly managed with a good 10 to twenty minute walk to the venue, parking was $15 in Sugarland. There were audio problems, lighting problems, and the AV system worked poorly some of the time. To be fair, patrons were doing all kinds of crazy things to jump the line. I will not be rushing back to the Smart Financial Center. Swervedriver and Short were great. I felt like I was in a large high school auditorium for the show, cement stairs and floors, poor lighting, you name it. There were lots of people directing traffic but none of them seemed to know what to do. The spots had problems finding the performers. If anything, they didn't appear enough.
